Meet the sewing machine part I

Tuesday 12 March | 5.30 - 7.00pm

116 Church Elm Lane, Dagenham, RM10 9RL

My name is Julianna, I’m a local secondary school teacher specialising in Design and Technology. These days I don’t get much chance to teach textiles, so I enjoy sharing what I know when I get a chance. If you have an unused sewing machine at home or would like to refresh your knowledge, then come along and learn some basics. We’ll develop sewing machine control skills by carrying out some simple tasks such as threading the machine, winding the bobbin and learning how to use some of the different stitch functions. Feel free to bring your machine or use ours to begin your sewing journey.

Meet the sewing machine part II

Tuesday 19 March | 5.30 - 7.00pm

My name is Julianna and this is part II of Meet the sewing machine. In this session we will recap the basic functions of the sewing machine. If you attended part I, you will have an opportunity to practice your new skills. If you’re brand new there’s plenty of time for questions. These practical sessions will give you the right knowledge to begin your sewing journey.
