Upcycling leather scraps

Tuesday 29 October | 4.00 - 6.00pm

The White House, 884 Green Lane, Dagenham RM8 1BX

My name is Frank and I am a local business owner and leathercrafter, I have been crafting in the borough for over two years and create everything by hand in my studio in Barking. With each item I make, there is always some extra material leftover. My aim is to turn these scraps into waste-free accessories.

Frank will show you how to follow simple patterns using the off cuts from the making process. We will use these scraps to create your own accessories, nothing gets wasted!

Barter Items:

1. A story

2. A joke

3. A pencil

4. A book recommendation

Picturing People

Thursday 7 November | 6.00 - 8.00pm

The White House, 884 Green Lane, Dagenham RM8 1BX

My name is Imogen, I grew up in Dagenham and I am a recent graduate. I’m a self-taught artist and my design recently got selected for a Doctor Who t-shirt. I’m excited to share what I know about illustration and how people can do quick sketches in motion.

I’ll show you how to draw people in a cartoon style, using an artists mannequin and focussing on breaking down shapes for full body sketches.

Barter Items:

1. Pencil

2. Rubbers

3. Nice pens

4. Creativeness!
