Let’s make the borough greener, healthier and wilder! The London National Park City launches this July, and Barking and Dagenham is a part of it! Together we are celebrating the great outdoors in the borough. The aim is to turn the city into a national park by holding activities in parks and green spaces. In Barking and Dagenham every ward councillor in the borough has supported this idea.

The London National Park City, has arranged a festival week of activities in London between 20 - 28 July. What better time of year to get outside and use our parks?

Local people have planned numerous fun events, to get everyone out and about. So what’s happening near you?

There will be plenty of picnics, sports such as street ball and rounders, and wild walks where you get to discover new things about local parks. Residents have planned to make seed bombs, set up painting sessions, plant sunflowers and lots more. These activities and many more like them will be taking place in Valence Park, Barking Park, Old Dagenham and other locations in the borough.

Check out the map to see what you can get involved in this Summer!
