“Ewa riro”, also referred to as stewed beans, is a Nigerian delicacy from the Yoruba community. It’s a delicious one-pot dish. It is made by boiling beans until tender, then we stew it up with tomatoes. “Ewa” translates to beans and riro means ”stirred” so ”Ewa riro” means ”stirred Beans.”

For this programme 4 local residents will each share one of their favourite soup recipes with us. Simple and satisfying, soup is the perfect meal to prepare quickly and enjoy with family and friends.
My name is Zenab, I love cooking soup for me and my son, who is also actively involved with Every One Every Day. I do hair and make-up also, but would love to share soup making skills with fellow residents, full of sweet potato, carrot and yam- this is the kind of soup that makes you warm from the inside. Especially if you add chilli sauce, as I always do!
