The Warehouse really is a space for everyone in the borough to find something that excites them. From food and fabric, to digital making and ceramics, the Warehouse is full of a variety of equipment for local people to learn how to use.
The Warehouse is open to all residents of Barking and Dagenham, and is full of opportunities to learn new skills and share things you may already know! Even if you’ve never seen a 3D printer before, or used a sewing machine, attending a Meet the Machines session will get you well on your way.
There’s lots to learn and many local people to meet at the Warehouse, and each session is a great opportunity to get to know how the space works and how to use the machines safely. The first step towards using the Warehouse is to pop down for a Membership Induction and then select a Meet the Machine you would like to go to.
To keep the Warehouse as safe and community-run as possible, you can also receive accredited training in Health and Safety, Food Hygiene and Fire Safety. This space belongs to everyone, and everyone that wants to, can play a part in keeping it, and the people in it, well looked after.
If you've missed an induction, or can't make the dates scheduled, please email one of the Warehouse Team. We will do our best to schedule more sessions for popular machines and find times that suit everyone.
WAREHOUSE MEMBERSHIP INDUCTION
Warehouse Membership is essential for anyone who wants to come to the Warehouse to learn new skills. You’ll be shown the different making and creating areas, and be introduced to the different types of making machines and what exciting things they can do.
It’s the best way to find out about how you can be involved in all the different projects, and to meet the people making them happen right here in Barking and Dagenham. After the induction, you’ll be a member of the Warehouse, meaning that you can spend time in the space during opening hours.
Feel free to stick around for a cup of tea have a chat with the team let the team know what ideas you have for the borough.
