Project Designer, Dagenham

Why I wanted to join the team

I first started attending events with Every One Every Day as a community participant, I had no idea what to expect but found myself absolutely enthralled by it all and eager to attend as many events/workshops as I could. I had wanted to branch into a humanitarian line of work but I simply had no idea where on earth I would fit in, Every One Every Day feels the perfect place to begin that journey.

The ideology behind Participatory City's values, beliefs and goals for the future, plus the incredible amount of research that has already gone into it continues utterly inspire me. The more I learn, the more fascinated I become and I feel truly humbled and honoured to be a part of something so wonderful. This is only the beginning of something that is going to change the world for the better and I simply cannot wait to see it come to its beautiful fruition.

A little bit about Carley’s background

Carley has moved around a huge amount of times and spent the first few years of her life growing up on various military bases both here in the UK and in Germany. She has always been drawn to the Great Outdoors and spends as much time as possible going for long walks/hikes. She has a background as an extremely strong swimmer, which she has fought hard to maintain despite injury. An over achiever at school, excelling in humanities, she later on obtained a History BA degree at the University of Kent.

After graduation she had ambitious career goals and sought to work her way up the hierarchy in Digital Media. She also extensively travelled during her mid twenties, including 3.5 years living in various parts of Australia. The vast amount of travelling she has done, coupled with varying styles of community-centred living make her extremely adaptable to new situations and people. She makes friends incredibly easily, blends cohesively and thoroughly enjoys being amongst diversity in all aspects of life.
