Have you ever dreamt about becoming a bee keeper?
Maria, a local resident living on Gascoigne Estate has dreamt about becoming a bee keeper for many years - and so the Bee School project was created! It’s all going to kick off with a a half day taster session in May. Following the introduction session we hope to invite a large group of residents to take part in a more structured programme of learning held over a few weeks in the summer.
About the project starter
Maria has spent some years working outdoors on a children’s garden project and growing her own vegetables and during this time has discovered the important role of bees to a sustainable environment.
About the bee keeping tutor
Eric Beaumont has kept bees in London for fifteen years and works locally to raise awareness of bee keeping and wider environmental issues.
Bee School 2018
We had a great response last year and there are currently 13 residents setting up hives across the borough after taking part. If you’d like to join them book your place online today!
