Waste works is a project to rethink how we work as a community and rethink our relationship with rubbish. Have you wondered what happens to the food waste that you throw away?

This project focused on residents composting food waste in their own households using Bokashi Bins, and using the compost to fertilise either their gardens or local allotments and community gardens. The benefit of a Bokashi Bin is that it takes up very little space, so anyone can have one.

The vision for this project is to create a network of people living locally who share their learning about waste management and composting, introducing circular economy in their micro neighbourhood, be it a block of flats or a street of houses.
